Introduction

This is the starting point for the web version of my M.Sc. dissertation. From October 1994 to June 1996 I was enrolled in the International Study Programme in Artificial Intelligence at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven for an M.Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence (Option: Cognitive Science). However, I actually spent the first of those two years at the Centre for Cogntive Science of Edinburgh University as an Erasmus exchange student. In Edinburgh, I attended the classes of their M.Sc. in Cognitive Science and Natural Language course.

Although the dissertation was based on a small-scale project carried out in Edinburgh, more than 95% of the work and all the writing was done when I was back in Leuven, working part-time at the Centre for Computational Linguistics .

How to Browse

In order to make this web version, I put all the (sub)sections of the dissertation on separate pages. It is still possible to start at the beginning and continue all the way to the end, but the hyperlinks in the pages should make it feasible for everyone to construct their own path through the information.

The best place to start your own tour of CLASPnet is right here: Table of Contents. (If you want to, you can also take a look at the cover of the dissertation.)
